Q&A: What if you have bad credit and you want to buy a home?

by Brian on September 6, 2009

Patience is the key in your case. The best thing you can do now to prepare is save as much money as you can, reduce debt and learn as much as you can about the process. Pick up every extra side job you can and bank everything you can. Make sure your taxes are clean with clearly documented income.

In the mean time, the fun part of buying a home is looking. Start looking at yourself as a homebuyer, not a candidate with poor credit who is working to get there. Enjoy the anticipation by going to open houses, driving neighborhoods and researching on-line. Once you reach the place of financial rest and clear credit, you’ll have all the tokens in place to make on of us agents very blessed people!
