Q&A: Can the seller’s realtor call they buyer’s bank and ask questions about the loan?

by Brian on September 10, 2009

Absolutely. As a buyer’s agent, I encourage the seller’s agent to check the basics out with my lender, and I have spoken with my lender(s) about the importance of this strong working relationship. As a seller’s agent, it’s a courtesy that I take seriously. I’ll call at the beginning of the process to introduce myself and let them know that we are working toward a win-win, stress-free closing for all the parties involved, and I’m there to help not hinder. I’ll also touch bases at the three week mark to make sure everything is smooth. I always see myself, the buyer, the seller, the cooperating agent, the lender and the miscellaneous service providers as one big team in place to serve the common good of the clients involved
