Nashville will be home to the nation’s first “Medical Mart,” as announced on November 30, 2009. If you are familiar with apparel marts, designer marts and the like, you’ll understand the concept. It will be one place where the medical community can come and shop, exhibit and see the very latest in medical trends and services world-wide.
Why Nashville? While we are known as Music City USA, most don’t realize that music and entertainment ranks well below the healthcare industry. In fact, healthcare is the number one industry in the region, with more than 300 medical companies calling Nashville home, including HCA and TriStar.
The Nashville Medical Mart will be located above the current convention center attached the Renaissance hotel and will be 13 stories when completed in early 2013. Within walking distance to the new convention center just south of Broadway, the development raises Nashville’s profile as a national city and destination.
With the average home price in the high $100K and low $200Ks, Nashville’s cost of living, quality of life, lack of a state income tax and affordability index continues to attract relocation buyers.
