It felt a little strange not to get up before dawn for a race. But the marathon wasn’t starting until 10 am and our hotel was only a couple blocks from the start line, so there was no need to get up extra early. This is the first race I’ve participated in with such a late start. I must say, I liked it.

The much anticipated 5 Points Animal Hospital is opening Tuesday, November 1st, at 1103 Woodland Street in the heart of East Nashville’s 5 Points. This is great news for this highly pet-populated community! Services being offered include internal medicine, general surgery, preventative care, behavioral and nutritional counseling, diagnostic lab, and food and prescription medicines, available in-store and online with home delivery options. The staff is lead by 7-year East Nashville resident Janet Grace, DVM, owner and main veterinary doctor. Hours of operation will be Monday-Friday, 7:30am-5:30pm, Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm, closed Sunday.

I finally ventured over to this cuter than cute new addition to Five Points yesterday, also known as 1108 Shops at Woodland, after a trip to the post office across the street. One simply adorable vintage-inspired silver bracelet from Goodbuy Girls later (and P.S., it was only $5.00!!), I was so happy I did. This small and unique collection of shops is a wonderful addition to the East Nashville community.
