Venues are listed from largest to smallest capacity with top 20 attended events making the list. All ticketed events’ seating charts are visually checked for a rough percentage of “sell-out” and listed based off the Wednesday estimation. Any sold out event is listed at the number listed as “capacity” for the venue. Total in Nashville is based on the “extra” people who will be using our roads and infrastructure and does not include basic, weekly commutes for work and the like. The same person may be counted in the grand total as they likely will attend multiple events. That number is impossible to calculate.

Locals, “Y’all come on out” is based on less than 300K in the city and good availability and cost throughout the city. “Y’all stay home” is based on 300K to 400K in the city and less availability at a higher price. “Y’all leave town” is based on 475K or more visitors to Nashville and high costs. The percentage of events geared locally is calculated by taking the number of all people at the top 22 events and dividing them by the number of event seats/spots that would be marketed more to locals (for example, Tomato Arts Festival, Nashville Sounds game, or Sevier Park Festival for locals and a major concert or a convention at Opryland Hotel or Music City Center for out-of-towners.) Numbers are not guaranteed correct and are a best estimate based on event website statistics, photos, and/or videos from previous events.

General visitor figure is derived from the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp statistics from an average week and all events not making the top 22 (usually venues with capacities of less than 400) are included in that number.

Radius is determined by what events are serviced by Nashville roads, buses, airport, and infrastructure. While an event like Bonnaroo is well-outside of Nashville, it has a huge impact on our resources

General holiday celebrations are estimated, for example, Cinco de Mayo fills up every Mexican restaurant. There are 191 Mexican restaurants listed on Google. Each seat an average of 50. Busiest times will be from 11 am to 2 pm and from 4:30 pm to 8 pm with a table turning over every hour.

Bachelorette numbers are based on the national average of 10 people per party and the average who come to Nashville weekly for parties, with warmer seasons weighted more heavily for attendance.
